I love it when Jesus does extraordinary things through ordinary people. There are many examples where God has spoken to me through others. Those moments are God-invited, God-inspired, and God-purposed, where His message is delivered at the right time and with the words spoken through people put in my path. I remember a decisive moment when I bumped into a friend after a long gap of not seeing each other. Over nearly two decades before, we were competing on the professional tennis tour, and he would invite me to Bible studies. His invitations came before I accepted Christ, but I would attend because I had nothing else to do. Fast forward nearly 20 years later, and our paths crossed again at the U.S. Open in New York. As I leaned in to embrace John, I whispered into his ear, “John, you won’t believe it, but I’ve accepted Christ.” John quickly responded, “Rob, you won’t believe it; I’ve been praying for you for 18 years that you would accept the love Jesus has for you.” His voice had been leading me toward Christ and confirmed God’s timing and His presence throughout my life.
